Founders

Prof. N. Ananthachar was born in a culturally rich family, deeply rooted in Shastras, Vedas and the Upanishads. With the ever growing quest for knowledge, he grew up to be on his own at a young age.
Teaching was an irresistible art that he had mastered. He had a burning desire to educate the illiterate and the underprivileged when formal education was meant for a chosen few during the Pre-Independence days. His indomitable will and boundless courage drew the attention of Sri Navaratna Rama Rao, who became his mentor for a journey together in establishing the school Acharya Pathashala in Basavanagudi.
Sri Ananthachar became the Founder Secretary and continued his ceaseless endeavor. A Master of Arts from Mysore University, this educationist was also versatile in being a planner, engineer, administrator, counsellor and above all, was the most sought-after person by students and parents alike.
A School that was founded in 1935 became an Institution in 1936 and grew up to a group of Institutions, under the guidance of Acharya Pathashala as a registered Association. The tremendous growth of several schools and colleges of Acharya Pathashala and its acquisition of a sprawling 105 acres campus at Somanahalli made it inevitable for the Association to be converted into a Public Trust which was registered on 16th May 1975.
He was a great visionary and dedicated himself to the “Cause of Education”. He continued to be the Founder Secretary of the Trust till he died on April 21st 1976.
